The Bridge Street Inn, formerly known as Baker Cottage, was built in 1895. It was a time when Charlevoix saw many resplendent grand hotels, one of these being the Beach Hotel.
The Bakers, builders of the Beach Hotel, also built over a dozen cottages used by guests of the hotel. The Baker Cottage, although originally intended as the Bakers’ personal residence, was designed to accommodate vacationers needing lodging.
Although the Beach Hotel no longer exists, its historic appeal lives on through the few remaining cottages. The Bridge Street Inn is proud to be a part of this heritage. We welcome our guests to come and experience the charm of Northern Michigan. |
